We were so excited when we were hired to give this master bedroom loft a top to bottom update. Our client had recently transplanted from New York City and purchased the most adorable bungalow in a trendy part of Atlanta. The upstairs loft space didn't have adequate closet space and overall didn't match our client's eclectic and modern aesthetic. We removed the carpet and replaced it with white oak wood floors with a custom stain, painted all of the walls including the wood accent wall which allowed the texture to still be present but without the farmhouse feel. The railings and banisters were too cottagey and outdated, so they were replaced with new wood and iron spindles to update the look. We designed a custom closet to fit perfectly in an otherwise unusable space and were so happy when our clients agreed to have it painted a dark moody blue-green. It's just the perfect edition. The furnishings we selected had character and we added wall sconces over the interested walnut bedside tables, which we love! The bed was upholstered in a custom grey fabric and we floated a large vintage looking area rug underneath to give their feet something soft to land on when getting up out of bed and also to ground the sleeping area. The dresser is one of our favorite pieces in the space, it has such great character and appeal with the carved drawers. Our client loves plants and her very, happy, fiddle fig tree had a perfect new home with a skylight directly above it. Lastly, we added a perfectly sized dressing mirror to add more function to the room and it feels so cozy and now is the perfect master suite loft for our clients.
