Phase II

We can't say enough about how much fun we had on this project and with the most wonderful clients! This was the second project working with these clients and in this phase, we completely overhauled the master suite, two guest bedrooms, and an art studio.

Before, the master bedroom felt outdated with green grasscloth wallpaper, floral window treatments, and old carpet. To create a sense of cohesion with the rest of the home, the walls and trim were painted in a soft white. New, lighter carpet was installed as well, but the showstopper in this room is the wood ceiling. The kiln-dried, band-sawn pine was finished in a dark stain to create a gorgeous focal piece that draws the eye immediately upon entering the room. The white walls and light-colored carpet contrast dramatically with the rustic ceiling which creates a cozy, encapsulating effect. A new, modern fan was installed to blend in with the ceiling. The custom bed with custom grand sham creates a statement that’s simple, yet beautiful (and yes, it is the biggest grand sham I’ve ever seen). All of the neutrals and wood tones in this bedroom make the room feel cozy and fresh. Simple accessories keep the room feeling uncluttered. It's the perfect modern rustic retreat and this space even made the cover of a magazine, check out our press page to see the feature.

Our artsy client decided to transform both of her kid’s former bedrooms into comfy guest rooms. In each of the rooms, the bright walls got a fresh coat of soft white paint to flow with the rest of the upstairs. In one of the rooms, an old pinewood bed was refinished in a dark moody blue-green color, which was also painted on the walls in the adjoining bathroom. Both beds were layered with luxurious custom bedding that adds dimension and texture with a warm, welcoming feel. Floating walnut wood shelves were installed to make use of the unique wall insets. Textured area rugs were added to ground each of the beds in the center of the rooms.  The nightstands and shelves were accessorized with unique pieces that add character. Every detail was thought of in order to tie the spaces together with color, texture, and character.

The lady of the house is a very talented artist and we were honored to help her improve the functionality of her art studio. Our main goal was to create lots of useful storage - we added frame ledge shelves for her to easily lean art pieces that are going to be listed for sale, getting them up off the floor and showcasing them. The ledges make it super easy to switch pieces out as needed. We also added a faux leather sofa bed to sleep extra guests, more wall mounted storage to keep her painting supplies organized and easily available. She was thrilled with the result and so are we! Now it's not just a place to store clutter, but a quiet space for her to dream and create.
